Three Village Historical Society
93 North Country Road
631-751-3730

Mission:
The Three Village Historical Society works within the community to explore local history through education. Educational programs are developed by collecting and preserving artifacts, documents, and other materials of local significance and by doing research about history of the people who have lived in the Three Village area from earliest habitation to the present.

Vision:
Preserving Our Community’s Shared Heritage
Mission and Vision Adopted by the Society’s Governing Board, December 1996
The Society’s philosophy is best summed up in its “Values Statement” approved by the board as part of the Business Plan in July, 1998:
 - Our first responsibility is to the community in which we live and work. In meeting its needs and those of the individuals who use our services we strive for excellence, integrity, and the highest professional standards in our programs and activities. We rigorously abide by the ethics, standards, and principals of the American Association for State and Local History, the American Association of Museums, and the Society of American Archivists.
 - We believe that a sense of history enables diverse components of a community to achieve a shared heritage (an important characteristic of a community) and enhances the overall quality of life. In bringing to life this belief we work to include the many different voices that have contributed to our history.
 - We are responsible to our employees and volunteers. We strive to be just and ethical. We promote volunteerism as the primary means of involving the community.
 - We encourage civic improvement and the protection of the environment and its natural resources. We exhibit our commitment by maintaining in good order the property we are privileged to use.
