The Museum of History Miami gathers, interprets, and presents the history of Miami and the greater South Florida region as a cultural crossroads of the Americas.
Through exhibitions, collections, and publications, the museum offers the community, its residents and visitors meaningful ways to connect to the rich past and ever-evolving future of the region and its diverse inhabitants.
Initially accredited by the American Association of Museums (AAM) in 1979, The Museum of HistoryMiami has been subsequently reaccredited in 1987, 1997 and 2008, joining the elite 24 Percentage of history museums nationwide, and one of only two history museums in Miami-Dade County to meet the rigorous professional standards required.
